Cease and Desist: Talking dogs(some of them) [Feb. 1st, 2009|10:18 pm]
[Current Mood | annoyed]

I'm usually one to see animals talk and enjoy it. But now I have to say that it needs to stop. Or at least slow down with the dogs. This came to a head because of Space Buddies. In case some don't know, this all started with Air Bud. First movie was funny. Second still got a laugh. Third a chuckle. Once they had more then one, it wasn't funny any more. Also at this point the movies were straight to home theaters. I stopped watching them after the second because I smelled fail and Disney leeches. So for a while I was thinking about just condemning all attempts for dog movies whether they talk or not. But I gave it some thought I decided not to do that. But I do have a suggestion: No more of the following species:

1) St.Bernard - Beethoven did a good job bringing them back but I think it's time they got a rest

2) Collie- Same as the St.Bernard but with Lassie. At least they're 'retired' from the camera

3 Doberman Pinscher- No more roles as the bad guy. They need a image makeover and they are bred to protect

4) Rottweiler- Bad press from crappy owners. They now need a image rep like the Dobie.

5) Great Dane- Astro, Scooby Doo, Marmaduke. No more goofy nature dogs of this breed

6) Chihuahua- They're tiny, loud, and think they're big dogs. If there was a species to be seen as evil, this is it.

7) Dalmatian- If I have to give a reason at this point, I'm LOCKING you in the Disney Vault.

8) German Shepard- THey're every police dog. They need to relax on the casting of them.

9) Golden Retriever- They're the reason I'm making this post. The whole Air Bud/Buddies movie series is based on them.

Well those are the ones I can think of. Agree, Disagree, let me know

2008: Year in Review [Dec. 30th, 2008|11:59 pm]
2008 was an interesting year. I guess there is one word that would classify it. And no it's not change. I believe it's 'Dawn.' For the US things have been in an epic spiral of suck and fail since the Dawn of the Bush Administration. Now Obama's regime is on it's way. Many are still waiting on that Dawn they so despirately need to give them hope. In 08 the light shined on me as I finally became part of the new console cycle with the Wii and soon the 360 will be in my house. Dawn's light was able to give me the chance to earn money of my own via work study. It's not much but a paycheck is a paycheck. Sadly many won't see Dawn because they passed on. Or if they were lucky, got to see it one last time. SOme are lucky to be able to see another Dawn pass by. There's probably more I could say but I don't have any idea what to address next. It'll just say Enjoy the rest of the year and try not to wake up with an awful taste in your mouth

4 years [Nov. 6th, 2008|10:45 pm]
[Tags|, , ]
[Current Mood | accomplished]

4 years ago I was anxious to see the results and was upset. 4 years ago I felt fucked over. 4 years ago I didn't think the US had a chance to regain some of its respect.4 years ago i turned overly cynical to the US and never wanted to be associated with it even though I was born here. 4 years ago no one wanted to deal with the US.

4 years ago, I dragged my feet and felt dead.

4 years later and the clouds lifted. 4 years later the injustice that was done before was made up for. 4 years later history was made. 4 years later and I smiled when I thought about my country. 4 years later the world rejoiced and prepares for the next chief. 4 years later the tag line 'Proud to be an American' doesn't sound like a joke anymore. 4 years later a glimmer of hope gets brighter.

4 years later, I feel alive again.

*Groan*(I don't know a good subject for this one to suit the anger) [Oct. 25th, 2008|06:14 pm]
[Current Mood | annoyed]

I was trying to wait to talk about the whole political circus because putting the spotlight on one stupid act would make me rant about others. But there's one thing that happened this week that made me mention it early: the McCain volunteer. This is the part where I find some reason to halt on swearing like a sailor with tourettes but no. I can't halt myself when talk about this one. This bat shit stupid bitch is a step ahead of Charles Manson crazy. First off if you're going to lie and make up a story, make it VAGUELY able to happen. You got jumped by some Obama supporter and beaten like the red headed stepchild that you are? Fine. But then you went to the extreme. Second, don't think that the police or any other organization won't do a bit of snooping. ESPECIALLY SINCE THOSE CLAIMS GET LOOKED INTO! You work for a politician. Granted you're technically a volunteer but you work for a politician nonetheless. Of course after seein a picture of you that's when I knew that your claim and you were full of rabid bullshit. And yes I'm referring to her face because part of her claim was that someone carved a 'B' into her face. Hello? Stupid Auntfucker? If someone carves a letter into your face, it's going to be facing FORWARDS not BACKWARDS! Have no never been online and seen someoen wake up with 'asshole','douche bag', 'idiot', or 'I suck cock' written on their foreheads with whatever color marker they had? This is why you fail and you suck. I hope they strap you down and get the knife abd probe ready. Cause it's time for your karma mandated electroshock and lobotomy.

Jetix [Oct. 11th, 2008|11:42 pm]
[Current Mood | blah]

I've always been a supporter of the old saying "Never play your trump card early" or however it goes. When I think about animated providers this is what i think of when I think of Jetix. It feels like they played all their big hands and cards early on, then just ran out of steam.

When Jetix first came on Toon Disney, it was a contender with Fox and Kids WB. It introduced shows like Dragon Booster, Get Ed, and *takes deep breath* Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!. And things were going smoothly. Sure they had a few duds but when you're starting, one misfire won't bring you down. In fact the only real beef I had with them to start was that they became the new home for Power Rangers. Which one? Name one and they play it.

Then all of a sudden it felt like they hit the bottom of the well and fell through it. ANd what they found was a gave site full of old shows no one seemed to remember. So Batman came back. THen Superman then Spiderman. Sure they had old shows before but then it was just a test/ Maybe even filler until a show would come back. Now they've been beinging shows back from the dead and I think some of them deserve to be in the dirt.

And now I'm left wondering where's the originality. Where's the Jetix that made me watch not because I wanted to get reacquainted with the Fantistic 4? Where's the new shows that make me sit on the edge of my seat and wow me with the talent? I've seen webfootage of Urban Vermin which is a new show and I know it's out there in Europe. So why can't the US get a chance to see it? And Captain Flamingo was sent to the early bird AM slot after being on for such a short time?

At this point I have no idea what Jetix is planning but I know one thing. If they're planning on being the next Boomerang, they're getting close

Sat Am Fall 08 part 2: The Tale of the Tape [Sep. 30th, 2008|08:22 pm]
Well here's how Sat Am stacks up for me. Since 4Kids runs the show, I'll just refer to what channel it comes on and what I like/don't like.

8AM: Tie. Fox(DiGata Defenders) CW(Viva Pinata) Viva Pinata is one of those rare shows that actually started as a game and became a animated series that actually holds its own and has been so far. Humor doesn't feel dry and the first few episodes were cheats. DiGata Defenders is a show that started a long time ago and then went off the air. I guess to get new episodes which it has now. I still like it but with a tie I find myself going back and forth and missing something.

8:30am: Tie. Fox(Biker Mice from Mars) CW (GogoRiki) This tie is weird for me cause I didn't think I'd be watching either show. Biker Mice From Mars surprised. When I heard it was coming back, I groaned because i thought it would continue the original series. It doesn't...kinda. The story is now when boiled down the war between mice and cats. Boiling it down doesn't mean it sucks. I just don't know how to explain it the right way. GogoRiki is a shock for me because of two reasons. The first: all the characters are basically balls with arms and legs. And it actually works. The second: This animated series was made in Russia. I know this because I've seen Russian text before and while there is English dialogue, they didn't fix the written text so you see it there. And I'll skip the intro theme for a bit though I'll have to hear it again just so I know if my ears were in pain from the theme or from me hitting my side.

9am: CW(Spectacular Spiderman) This is now on the repeat cycle as new episodes are underway. One thing I love about this series is that it's a retelling of the whole story. Well maybe that's not right if you're a comic nut. I'm not but I hear things and this series is based on Peter Parker in high school rather then college. It also shows all the villains in a new way. Special attention to Dr.Octopus and Electro as they looked much better from the comic and previous animated series.

9:30am CW(TMNT Back to the Sewers) I first said Thank *Insert your own divine deity here* They're out of the future line up. I still say that even though it continues from there. However I kinda dislike the intro theme and some of the animation style. Even so I'll watch cause it feels a bit more serious.

10:00am Tie. Fox(Chaotic M'rillian Invasion) CW( Dinosaur King) I liked both of these shows and still do. Both had an art style that made me want to watch and enjoy. The new Chaotic starts right where the last one left off and goes from there. Same with Dinosaur King. Both take the traditional card battle game and put it in a different light and spin on it. Once again I find myself not able to describe it. I could though but I prefer not to sound like a total fan about either show

10:30am CW(YuGiOh 5D's) My first reaction to the news of the show: Another #*&()#)! YugiOh!? I still feel that way but i watch for the same reason I watch Pokemon. And right now I prefer not to say what it is right now.

At this point I turn to CN to finish up my Sat Am line up. Though technically I'm watching CN since 9am for Pokemon. Now at 11 there's Bakugan which is another 'take card battle game and add a twist show'. Though this one feels unique without being a rip off. at 11:30 Robotboy comes on and I watch that.

The shows I didn't mention: FOx 9-10am: Sonic X. I enjoyed this show the first time it aired. I don't like it so much the second time around. CW 11-12pm: Chaotic. The first two series I don't need to see again mostly because it shows on Toon Disney. Fox 10:30am TMNT: Fast Forward. I just mentioned I didn't like this so I don't need to say any more. Same 11am. Kirby Right Back atya. Same as Sonic X. 11:30am Winx Club. WHy this show was on again, I don't know.

Sat Am Fall 08 [Sep. 29th, 2008|09:32 pm]
Well the fall Sat Am has hit and then it got reshuffled this past Saturday. After the take over of 4Kids I wasn't sure what I would be watching if I was going to watch. But since it's tradition for me to watch I did. So here's what I saw. Now remember, I have strict rules for who's considered in my watching schedule. They go as following:

#1: All lineups MUST START AT 8AM. Only exception is if the news takes a bit too long from special report.

#2: Speaking of the news, it must not start nor be a part of the lineup. A little news break between shows? I'll allow it. A half hour on news? denied

#3: Live action shows only get one half hour to show their stuff. More then that and it better have a decent cult following.

Well with all that lets go to the times and see what we got. Oh wait. I better not do it right now. I need to have all the angst at the top so I can gripe real good. Plus I gota remember the times and shows. Next post: The tale of the tape

OH CHRIST!!! [Sep. 9th, 2008|09:38 pm]
[Current Mood | aggravated]

Usually I don't talk about religion because the minute you open your mouth about it, everyone who's a religious nut decides to throw shit into it in hopes to shut you up. However I've got my mask on and a bullhorn. I'm not afraid and if i don't say anything my head will explode. Basically what I want to say is this and listen carefully: JESUS/GOD DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE ADVERTISEMENTS!!!!

So you may be wondering what prompted me to risk my neck about this. Well there's a lot that's out there. For one thing, all the gospel music. Not what you hear in church, the CD's, DVD's, and all the other bullshit people pay for. If it isn't part of the plate they pass around in church, I don't think I should have to fork it over. Granted I'll give a quarter or pocket change when it's charity work but that's just it. Charity change goes to an alleged worthy cause. Buying the CD of a singer, no matter how much is going to a worthy cause, still goes to their pocket.

Second thing that pissed me off: The Gospel Channel. While channel surfing, I saw this pop up right in between VH1 Classic and Fuse(Much Music if you remember that far or out of the US). My initial reaction: You've got to be !)#)#)$ kidding me. It was a Sunday and I didn't want to outright say it even it flashed through my head. What's more it has Christian Rock. If there were an oxymoron stronger then this I know it not. And this channel is all about Jesus and God and church. My ears were subject to this from K to 8th grade. And this was by choice. I don't need to possibly hear it every day from people who fit under the second paragraph I made.

But what made me lose it was something I saw while doing yard work on Friday last week. It was some kid's t shirt and when I saw it I figured, "It's hot, I've been out here for over an hour. I was seeing things." Then I saw it again this week. Same kid, same shirt. Fully awake state of mind. On this shirt there was a picture of Tweety. Not a big deal for me. But then as it got closer I was able to make out the whole message/picture. On top the message: "Jesus is the Tweetest". And Tweety had a bible in one wing. Now I've had it. It's bad enough the average person can't escape verbal and physical bible thumping from others. Now they employ childhood characters to do it?! No. No to whoever made the shirt. No to whoever buys it. No to whoever came up with the idea. You should all be beaten with sticks until you come to your senses.

It's this kinda stuff that's made me think about switching sides. Not seriously, but just so my ears can get a break. The message should be a lighthearted and say "Why not see what Jesus has in store for you?" and not "God is good. God is great. I surrender my will as of this date."(Give yourself a barrel of win if you know where I copied that from) Christianity has turned from a religion to a business. And while I do appreciate the work, the way it's done just disgusts me.

Now if you don't mind, I've got to finish putting up sandbags to prepare for the idiots who think i'm dissing the bible.

WTF?! [Aug. 31st, 2008|03:08 pm]
I had this dream about a few weeks ago before i had a clue what was to come. After groaning about what happened to Sat AM this is the dream that came up:

I got frustrated at the Sat AM line up that I decided to take action about it. Rather then just look to who ran 4Kids, I took a look to see who ran Jetix. Found out that both was ran by the same two people. So I get myself some death dealing impliments and go for it. THe building was well packed with security and all were armed. No problem. I scoped the place out and found out the best route to the office(thank you guided tours). So I do some Sam Fisher/Ethan Hunt stunts and make my way to the CEO and VP who happen to share a big office. I'm there and I close the door. No security gets in, and the only way for them to get out is to base jump out the window. 50 feet of rope and two chairs with no wheels fix that. I've got them down and interrogating. Now I'm there, ranting about getting revenge for all those who hate how Sat Am is now and how it used to be. For monopolizing the whole thing and then I look around. The pictures on the wall don't seem important but one of a horse catches my eye. Then there's the whole thing itself as I just ranted to them. This is what I say after I make my point:

"You sly bastards. This is how you do it after all those attempts. You see you're about to go out and you create 4Kids in the US. To cover your bases, Jetix is made and you leave. You know anime is about to be the next big thing and translate Yi-Gi-Oh and POkemon for English speaking countries. You gain a share of their profits from the games and swag. You then get enough to gain Fox's Sat AM slot and turn it into 4KidsTV. By now you have enough capital to gain everything you need but you can't get revenge for your former home base kicking you out. THen you see the name change from WB to CW. There's your chance. New name, new owners."

"Now you can get it back but from behind the scenes. At this point you're now a big shot and you're hold is firm. Sure you lost Pokemon but you have Yu-Gi-Oh. You make your bid and you got it. Now you have all not only your own base channel, but you got the home you used to have. Plus Toon DIsney. But that's your mistake in keeping it a secret. You had WB shows on DIsney. ANd that's kinda the reason I can't do what I want to do. You got revenge on a great wrong that was committed."Then I sigh."I can't take you down because you did something that should've be done."So I untie them and shake off the adrenaline, wel most of it"Still you have to do something for me if not all of us"I quickly write down Dragon Booster Academy"Bring this back"Then write Urban Vermin"ANd this to the US. Otherwise I'll be forced to let HER know you're here."

THe CEO then turns to me as I get my parachute ready to jump out the window and looks to me"THe police won't take me in for doing this to Saturday Mornings."I then smirk and sit a blue bow on the desk with a small skull on it and say just before i run and jump out"Now who said anything about turning you into the police, Brain?"

Avatar: The Last Airbender [Jul. 19th, 2008|11:10 pm]
[Current Mood | happy]

My faith in American animation has always been, um... what's the term? Oh right. Shaky. Sometimes they make something that has great artwork but a lousy story. Other times vice versa. Even something that makes me wish they would just burn down the studio to teach others a lesson. But every so often one show comes along and makes my faith if not fully restored, at least partially restored.

One of these is Avatar: The Last Airbender. It had a story that got me interested and didn't let me go. I say had because tonight was the two hour series finale. And I could barely turn away from it. From finding out where he was to knowing what his real challenge is as well as how much time he had to complete it, the show kept me glued to my seat. The most interesting about it is not the story though that was intriguing, nor that each bending style has a rl influence. The most interesting thing is that it was made by Nickelodeon.

The channel hasn't made much that's worth talking about. And what it has made before has made people want to rip their hair out in how bad it's been. See above about what I said about what I said about animation in America and insert cartoon there. Only two I would argue about are Danny Phantom And Invader Zim. But that's for another day and when I have the time for it.

Avatar is one of those shows where you can shove any animation studio by the head, slam them into the screen and say "See? See? THAT'S how it's SUPPOSED TO BE DONE!!" I never thought any cartoon would make me say what I'm about to say but here goes. *takes deep breath and lets it out*

It is with great distinction and pleasure that I call Avatar: The Last Airbender the first American cartoon series worthy to be considered anime.

Thank you Nickelodeon for this example of how you should make a cartoon. Thank you.
